**Your Role**:
- A Product Owner is a bridge between key business stakeholders (or customers) and an Agile development team, managing the value delivered by the team and ensuring that it aligns with the overall service strategy. The Product Owner is accountable for getting the team to develop the right thing, while the team is accountable for developing it the right way.
- The Product Owner will be required to work in an Agile team to support the development of a high-value, high-quality service, enabling the division to achieve its planned business outcomes.
- This role is for individuals who have deep knowledge and skills in an area of specialisation, along with and the desire and ability to learn across disciplines.
**Major Accountabilities**:
- Support the Service Owner Lead or work in the Service Owner Lead capacity, by developing and maintaining the overall product strategy, executing on the strategy and the voice of the customer.
- Understand the Divisional and Group objectives and strategies
- Manage the product’s stakeholders (business and tech) - balancing both customers and business needs and driving business case realisation
- Balance the trade-off between quality, benefits, risk, budget, time to market and user experience and effectively communicate it to key stakeholders
- Where applicable, work closely with Platform teams to understand upcoming architectural solution and system runway scope
- Ability to coach other Service Owners on value prioritisation and benefits realisation
- Provide insights on maximising value and understand industry best practice measures and metrics including backlog tracking, burndown metrics, velocity, and task definition
- Able to clearly define the product and requirements with business stakeholders and development teams by translating requirement and writing epics, features and stories
- Develop and regularly maintain the product backlog by removing and adding items to it (epics, features and user stories) and ensure that they are clearly expressed (including acceptance criteria), refining them when necessary and regularly prioritising
- Maintain the Non-functional Requirements (NFRs), to help ensure that the solution meets relevant standards and other system quality requirements
- Provide support to the team and work closely with the Scrum Master to remove team impediments & lead by example
- Where applicable, participate in the budgetary guidance meetings with the engagement team, architects and appropriate technical and business specialists
- Accept or reject each product increment.
- Decide whether to release items into production along with deciding whether to continue development.
- Ensure that valuable releases are delivered as often as possible
- Demonstrate what has been delivered along with the team through showcases
- Co-locate with onshore team members and always be available to the team to resolve ambiguity on backlog items
- Coaches and guides the achievement of Cognizant strategy by working with stakeholders as directed to elicit, analyse, communicate and validate requirements for changes to business processes, policies, information and systems
- Coaches and guides the business in the definition of their business operating model in order to support business strategy by designing business solutions that deliver targeted business outcomes
- Supports executive decision making in the prioritisation of requirements, initiatives and allocation of funds for future investment through the preparation of business cases
- To steward the direction of the business analysis practice across the Cognizant business towards industry best practice.
- Scoping and defining new business opportunities and /or business improvements; collaborating with Enterprise Architecture, business and IT partners to design the business solution that will deliver the business outcome.
- Planning, estimating and reporting on Business Analysis activities and deliverables.
- Review and revise scope considering any new information and/or changes to initial assumptions, including implications for project time, cost, quality and risk
- Monitor and report on status of financials, risks, issues and progress towards milestones and deliverables
