**About the role**

Do you thrive on being part of shaping fast paced communications and developing effective, consistent and clear media and communications content which reaches your target audience?

The Coordinator, Communications will deliver council messaging that reflects the organisation's priorities and helps meet corporate objectives. You will use your high level judgement to select the right communications methods and techniques to meet an ambitious communications agenda, improve written media and communications outputs and maximise their effectiveness.

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

- Provide high-level advice on the development, implementation and review of council’s strategic corporate messaging
- Provide support and advice to enable effective and efficient communication around critical incidents
- Build and sustain relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support delivery of organisational media and communication outcomes
- Provide support to the Media and Communications Manager in daily communications tasks

**About you**

To be successful in this role you will have:

- Experience at a senior level in the preparation and editing of timely, accurate, relevant, and consistent written communications
- Experience at translating organisational priorities into effective messaging for a diverse range of audiences
- Experience in coaching and mentoring colleagues effectively to continuously improve organisational written communications
- Proven ability to advise senior stakeholders persuasively, resolve conflict and address sensitive issues with tact, discretion, and strategic intent
- Problem-solving and decision-making skills, working under limited direction and to tight timelines

This is a fixed-term position for 9 months, Level 7 with a salary commencing at $110,575 plus 12.5% superannuation.
