Talent International is currently recruiting for an
**APS 5 and APS 6**
**Media Officer **to work for one of our
**Federal Government clients** based in
**Surry Hills**
**, NSW. **The position is
**12-month contract role with the possibility of extension** and are paying
**$53.63 & $58.50 per hour + Super**.

7.6 per hour and 38 hours per week.

**Responsibilities**:

- Seeking opportunities to promote the Scheme, with a particular focus on finding and telling individual stories about participants who are benefitting from their NDIS supports.
- Pitching participant stories and other media opportunities to journalists with a view of landing stories in mainstream media that help build community awareness and promote the Scheme.
- Managing relationships and building strong networks and connections with internal and external stakeholders, with a focus on journalists, disability service providers, and the client Partners in the Community (PITC).
- Producing media and other communications products, including media releases, talking points, and Social media posts to support the client announcements and media opportunities for the client spokespeople and the Minister for the NDIS.
- Managing and responding to media enquiries and identifying potential media risks.
- Undertaking a wide variety of general tasks as required, including but not limited to, organising photo shoots, supporting Digital Media video shoots, and providing support for reporting, analytics and presentations.

**Essential Requirements**:

- Previous experience in a similar role
- Strong knowledge of the NDIS Act
- Experience working within disability sector
- Excellent Written and oral communication skills
- Excellent stakeholder management skills
- Independent worker with strong decision making
