This role of a **Disability Support Worker** is to provide exceptional service whilst supporting Interact Australia’s clients to meet their goals as set out in their NDIS plan. This includes;
- Working autonomously to provide appropriate levels of support to maintain and improve the client’s level of independence
- Community participation, cooking skills, skill building, vocational preparation, relationship building, and various other needs
- Responding to the client’s needs and collaborate positively with their stakeholders, guardians, support people and others in their lives
- Keeping accurate and complete records of activities via progress notes
- Working within the NDIS Code of Conduct

To be considered for this exciting opportunity, you will need to possess the following qualifications and experience:
**Minimum Requirements**
- **Experience with Positive Behaviour Support Plans**:
- **Experience working with clients with High Intensity Behavioural Supports**:
- **MAYBO training and experience beneficial to the role**:
- **Forensic or Mental Health support worker background**:
- Certificate III or above in Individual Support (Disability or Aged Care)
- National Police Check Clearance
- Working with Children Check (Known as Blue Card)
- NDIS Worker Clearance Certificate or Yellow Card
- Experience in working with people with challenging behaviours.
- Experience in mental health
- Experience in safe handling of food
- Experience in safe use of Medication
- Certificate of NDIS Orientation Module
- COVID-19 Vaccine Certificate (Fully vaccinated)
- 2 x References
- Current QLD Driver’s License
- Comprehensive Car Insurance
**Key Responsibilities**
- Follow individual support plans, behaviour support plans, and health care plans.
- Participate in community activities within a Supported Independent Living environment.
- Maintain and monitor a client’s support plan whilst modelling a person-centred approach.
- Identify and support a range of learning opportunities for our clients.
- Observe and document an individual’s progress and any changes through detailed note-keeping.
**Please note**:Due to the support needs of our clients, you must be available and willing to work a varied pattern of shifts across a regular 24/7 roster (including short shifts, night shifts, weekends, and public holidays) to be considered for these roles.
**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent, Casual
**Salary**: $30.00 - $84.70 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 40 per week

- CERT III in Individual Support or Equivalent qualification (preferred)
