Procurement Principal for Major Construction Projects with Global Mining Client

About the opportunity

Reporting into the Category Lead you will be partnering with the Capital Works team to deliver cost-efficient best practice contracting across capital and operating expenditure, development and sustainability.

Your key responsibilities will include:

- Developing strategic sourcing initiatives through collaboration with key stakeholders, and leveraging the commercial information available in the company’s various financial systems
- Carrying out the sourcing and contract execution processes aimed at cost reduction and driving efficiency through supply-chain for the benefit of the Group’s Projects
- Leading commercial contract negotiations
- Ensuring the tendering / procurement plan is developed and managed on an annual basis to ensure best price/ service combinations are achieved
- Working with the Project Team & actively review CAPEX plans annually to understand the key deliverables of each project including the preparation and monitoring of capital works budgets
- Collaborating with Sustainability to drive constant improvement to achieve sustainability targets with the respect to the appointment and management of consultants and contractors.

About you

We are looking for a driven and collaborative procurement professional that can develop strong working relationships across the business and partner with projects and sustainability to lead sourcing and operations procurement activities.

To be successful in this role, you must have:

- Bachelor degree in a related discipline
- A detailed understanding of Construction goods and services procured including key contractual terms of contracts
- Strong Projects experience in developing commercial strategies and leading high value strategic negotiations. Strong understanding of civil & projects markets.

This role is Perth based with the option of working from home for around half of your week. A base salary up to $200k + as well as a generous bonus is on offer.
