**About the Role**
This is a great opportunity to take the next step in your career - the role provides exposure to a wide range of People and Culture matters, support to grow your People and Culture skills and experience, and the opportunity to directly influence the kinds of processes, initiatives and solutions we implement at AIM.
As the People and Culture Advisor, you will provide generalist Human Resources advice and support that delivers business outcomes, enables performance, and drives a positive workplace culture. You’ll provide coaching, guidance and training on a broad range of people matters, offering solutions in line with best practice, policies and legislation.
The People and Culture team supports all AIM staff across our Sydney and Melbourne campuses. The team consists of the Head of People and Culture (Sydney based), People and Culture Advisor (Sydney based vacancy), Diversity Advisor (Melbourne based) and People and Culture Coordinator (Sydney based).
Reporting to the Head of People and Culture, your focus will be to:
- Provide support and advice across the employee lifecycle - employee relations, Industrial relations, recruitment, payroll, work health & safety, administration and compliance
- Guide and coach managers to take ownership of people matters with consideration of best practice, legal obligations and ethical standards.
- Provide options/strategies in the resolution of workplace issues & grievances
- Contribute to the development and implementation of a variety of People and Culture projects and initiatives
- Opportunities to take the lead on People and Culture initiatives to grow your skills and try new things
- Develop and maintain strong partnerships with all leaders and team members and maintain an up to date understanding of business needs and priorities
**About You**
We are looking for a passionate and experienced or emerging People and Culture Advisor with the ability to build positive relationships grounded in trust and integrity and can communicate effectively with all stakeholders.
Being proactive and showing initiative will be key to your success.
- Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources or related field
- Ideally 2-3 years’ experience in a HR generalist role (e.g. HR Officer, Coordinator or Advisor)
- Strong relationship building skills and an ability to quickly form rapport with a variety of stakeholders - the P&C team liaise with many levels within the business including Board of Directors, Leadership Team, Managers and front line employees.
- Understanding of Fair Work legislation and Modern Awards - we are respondent to the Educational Services (Post-Secondary Education) Award 2020.
- Demonstrated problem solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong prioritisation and time management skills
- Attention to detail and highly organised
- Can work both under direction and autonomously
- Previous exposure to human resources systems or payroll welcome, but not essential
