The Head of Financial Planning & Analysis provides advice and recommendations to the CFO in the development of strategies and plans for the FP&A function and APRA. The position is responsible for providing advice to executive leaders on the development, implementation and tracking of budgets and performance. This includes accountability for the provision of accurate financial data and forecasts to aid leaders in making decisions and thereby achieving APRA’s strategic vision.

**About the team**

The Finance team leads APRA's effectiveness through the management of APRA's financial resources to enable APRA and its employees to meet their individual and collective outcomes and obligations.

**In this role you will**
- Partner with senior management in APRA as a trusted business adviser providing financial solutions to business issues. This includes funding, budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and insights. This will provide senior management with accurate information on which to make business decisions and deliver on their financial commitments.
- Be responsible for the development and implementation of financial strategies and plans in support of APRA's corporate and business objectives.
- Provide the APRA’s Members and Executive Directors with strategic and operational reporting to assist in decision making and the utilisation of resources.
- Liaise with other government agencies for financial aspects including determination of industry levies, funding, and cost-recovered activities.
- Lead and support APRAs requirements through the Government’s Budget and reporting cycle and processes.
- Lead and develop team members, including identification and fostering of potential talent and managing of performance throughout the team.
- Set clear goals and objectives for team members in line with APRA’s Corporate Plan and people frameworks.
- Model inclusive leadership behaviours and instil an open culture within the team, where divergent views are shared and respected. Role model an APRA wide mindset and enterprise behaviours.

**About you**

You bring deep knowledge and understanding of financial planning, risk management, and performance management concepts and practices from your Financial Services or Government agency experience. You have the skills and capacity to manage the development and tracking of strategic and operational financial budgets and plans, including investment pool. You have experience in the development and implementation of financial management systems and reporting procedures, with demonstrated capacity to analyse financial data and provide senior leaders with insights that meets their business requirements.

As an experienced leader, you have built, led, and developed high performing, engaged teams. You are an advocate of operational excellence and change underpinned by your experience gained in varied operating environments. With highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, you can advise and report to internal and external stakeholders and Boards. Your experience is backed by your relevant (CPA/CA) qualifications.
