Barista/trainee Coffee Machine Technician

Deluca Coffee, a leading specialty coffee roaster known for its exceptional quality and customer service is seeking an enthusiastic Barista who is looking to upskill as a Coffee Machine Technician. As a Barista, you will be responsible for crafting and serving delicious coffee while providing engaging customer service at our flagship espresso bar and roastery in Marrickville. The Technician side of the role includes on-the-job training to cover servicing La Marzocco equipment in our wholesale partner cafes. This is a full-time position that requires Monday to Saturday availability. (Sunday +1 other day off)

**Responsibilities**:
Barista:

- Prepare and serve various coffee-based specialty beverages per Deluca Coffee's recipes and standards.
- Provide friendly and efficient customer service, ensuring an exceptional experience for all patrons.
- Assist the wholesale team in packing orders for delivery to our cafe partners.
- Take customer orders, process payments, and maintain a clean and organized workspace.
- Ensure that coffee equipment is cleaned and maintained regularly.
- Stay current with coffee industry trends and continually expand knowledge of coffee beans, brewing techniques, and flavour profiles.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations, including assisting with inventory management and restocking supplies

Technician:

- A pathway will be provided for you to develop your tech servicing skills. This will require a combination of training provided to you during your employment and external studies to complete in your time.
- Servicing reports
- Parts ordering and inventory management

Our goal is to upskill you to be capable of completing all the scheduled servicing of wholesale partners' equipment.

**Qualifications**:

- Currently working as a barista, preferably in specialty coffee.
- We will provide the training pathway for the technician part of the role.
- Previous experience working with tools and/or electrical equipment (professional or hobby-related)
- Strong passion for coffee.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and desire to provide outstanding customer service.
- Ability to maintain attention to detail and quality at all times
- Flexibility in working a Monday-to-Saturday schedule.
