About the Role
Governance, Strategy and Planning undertakes a range of enterprise activities to support the department to meet its strategic objectives and operational requirements, and delivers services and products to support frontline and corporate staff to effectively and confidently perform their duties.GSP is seeking motivated, critical thinkers with strong problem-solving skills who are passionate about working with stakeholders to achieve better outcomes for our customers. GSP offers a creative environment for collaboration and teamwork; flexible work options; and learning opportunities and skill development.Four exciting roles are available in the following areas: Maturing departmental approaches to human rights and customer complaints management:
- Develop tailored complaints and human rights resources and training to build capability in frontline and corporate areas;
- Provide support, advice and training to business areas;
- Work collaboratively to drive continuous improvement in complaints management and reporting, including supporting process change across the department.
Operational policy and procedure development for the Policy and Procedure Register:
- Draft information management and technology related policies and procedures for use in schools, regions and central office;
Maturing departmental approaches to enterprise risk and business continuity management:
- Work with specialist teams to ensure risks are assured through effective processes and systems to support schools;
- Review, analyse and critique quarterly risk assessments and control environments by business areas and regions, to provide advice, support, and reporting to executives.
**Embedding best practice evaluation and monitoring approaches**:
- Work with stakeholders from across the department to develop and implement fit-for-purpose monitoring and evaluation approaches for significant departmental initiatives;
- Develop and participate in monitoring and evaluation activities, including preparing methodology, developing frameworks, undertaking qualitative and quantitative analysis, and writing reports;
- Embed evaluation and monitoring capability within program delivery areas using a collaborative and flexible approach.
We are looking for Principal Policy Officers who have the following attributes:
- Critical and strategic thinkers, who can research and analyse issues, translate complex information into clear and user-friendly products, and make informed recommendations to management;
- Exceptional writers and communicators who are great at stakeholder engagement and negotiation;
- Excellent attention to detail, organisation, coordination and project management skills;
- A drive to continuously improve and innovate to deliver better outcomes and meet strategic objectives.
