Functional Analyst, Microsoft

**3. Key Accountabilities

Organisational Analysis
- Carry-out an analysis of available documentation translating process into business functions and aligning these to the Microsoft platform..
- Conduct risk assessment analysis and process impact assessments based on solution options available to the business.
- Review business requirements, identify areas for delivering greater benefits or realisation of synergies based on Microsoft platform capabilities.
- Contributes to the definition of organisational policies, standards, and guidelines for business process improvement through analysing opportunities provided by platform capabilities.
- Identify data flows, integration points, validation, security considerations and data management implications for key projects
- Develop information services plans, integration maps and develop strategic responses and guidance.
- Scope and define new organisational improvement opportunities

- Determine requirements that are the highest priority for outcome success
- Develop Microsoft based models that allow for faster, more efficient product development with an emphasis on configuration and re-use.
- Identify, communicate and, where appropriate, facilitate opportunities for continuous improvement and innovation
- Scope and define new organisational improvement opportunities through making connections across products and functional elements.
- Develop graphical representations of business processes to facilitate understanding and decision making.
- Assesses the feasibility of business process changes and recommends innovative approaches with a particular focus on minimising technical re-work and/or customisation.

- Identifies the communications and relationship needs of stakeholder groups at the outset of any engagement based on analysis of functional needs and culture.
- Translates communications/stakeholder engagement strategies into specific and repeatable workflows, activities and deliverables.
- Facilitates open communication and discussion between stakeholders, acting as a single point of contact by developing, maintaining and working to stakeholder engagement strategies and plans with an agile product development context.
- Anticipate stakeholder needs and lead development of positive relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders at all levels.
- Applies a variety of tools techniques and forums in order to realise a synergistic understanding of the business.

Expert advice and

support
- Takes responsibility for understanding client requirements, collecting data, delivering analysis and complex problem resolution.
- Identifies, evaluates, and recommends options which leverage Microsoft capabilities.
- Builds on user journey mapping and pain point identification to articulate functional requirements and solution mapping aligned to platform capabilities.
- Enhances the capabilities and effectiveness of the business, by ensuring that proposed solutions offered by configuration platforms are properly understood and appropriately exploited.
- Contributes advanced expertise and knowledge to benefit strategic solution development, adhering to design principles for strategic optimisation.
- Through strategic functional engagement and analysis identifies opportunities for Microsoft platform re-use.
- Leads productively to deliver solutions and outcomes in an organisational environment complicated by scale, heterogeneity, and complexity.

Specialist Expertise for 'Information Technology'
- Demonstrable experience in leading, refining and delivering analysis and solution work on high profile ICT projects which have a particular emphasis on complex business process, workflow, data flow and business logic.
- Demonstrable experience in selecting, adopting and adapting appropriate business analysis methods, tools and techniques including the integration of specific Microsoft knowledge such as pre-configured modules.

Problem Solving & Presentation Skills

**6. Qualifications/Relevant Experience**

Essential: Minimum 3+ years as a Functional Analyst for a mid to large sized organisation

Essential: Minimum 2+ years of technical working experience with the Microsoft platform

Desirable: Demonstrated experience working in an Agile environment
