**About the Role**

The BCF CoE manager will report administratively and commercially to the Mining &Metals (M&M) business sector general manager to whom they are assigned, and technically and functionally to the M&M manager of technology.

Key Responsibilities:

- Leverage the CoE skills and experiences to solicit, win, and perform front-end studies that can lead to project engagement.
- Support M&M assigned business sector general manager in matters of targeted BD.
- Support the business sector projects, with particular emphasis on technical foundation, new technology and innovation where applicable, production performance, LEAN design approaches and the requirements to achieve fast plant ramp-up.
- Serve as consultant to clients and/or internally to project and specialty engineering or scientific groups providing advice and counsel on special and unique assignments.
- Review engineering or scientific concepts, studies, drawings, calculations and specifications.
- Interface with client personnel to determine their needs, develop scope for studies and cost estimates for services and participate in proposal preparation and presentation.
- Provide substantive guidance and direction to engineering personnel in the development of advanced design criteria and specifications.
- Screen and recommend selection of special outside consultants; coordinate their activities and monitor their performance.
- Conduct, lead, or advise on, special studies on economic feasibility and on complex new technologies, methods and materials.
- Interpret new or special governmental regulations, engineering codes, standards, criteria and performance data.
- Develop and coordinate special technical educational and training programs for Bechtel personnel.
- Take an active and visible role, representing Bechtel at professional conferences and on committees.
- Actively investigate, evaluate and contribute to technological/scientific advances in the specialized field of mineral processing, and keep management informed on these important new advances.
- Provide professional guidance to senior management and senior client technical/scientific personnel.
- Provide CoE leadership with respect to technical and commercial performance and to resource development matching GBU plans and aspirations.

**About You**
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited university as well as 20+ years of work experience relevant to the industry sector for which the CoE serves.
- Understanding of industrial and regulatory standards and design criteria in the engineering or scientific discipline.
- Knowledge of sector-related design and execution practices and the cost influences involved.
- Knowledge of life cycle economic competitive needs and effects from major competing technologies in mineral processing and/or metal production in the industry sector for which the CoE serves.
- Established stature in the industry sector, with high level of verbal and written communication skills.
- Established networking among clients, technology providers, vendors and academia pertaining to the industry sector for which the CoE serves.
