Local government seeks a highly-experienced Strategic Communications and Engagement Manager to develop and implement communications & engagement strategies **Manager Communications and Engagement opportunity** - $120,000 - $130,000 p.a. plus Super plus allocated car - Full-time, permanent opportunity - Perth location | Bring your Communications and Engagement skills and expertise **Your new role** Our client, a local government, seeks an experienced Communications and Engagement Manager for a full-time, permanent opportunity based in Perth. As the Communications and Engagement Manager, you will provide expert advice on the development and implementation of stakeholder engagement, communication, corporate affairs and marketing activities at the strategic and tactical levels. You will lead a team of specialists to drive consistently high levels of community outcomes using on-brand, engaging and accessible written, verbal and digital communications. **Key responsibilities** - Reviewing and implementing the Communication, Marketing and Public Relations, Community Engagement and Customer Service Strategies - Working with and coaching a team to ensure engagement, communications and stakeholder management plans are developed which meet the needs of the local community - Providing strategic oversight, advice and direction, and deliver of community and stakeholder engagement strategies and activities for services, projects and decisions - Building strong relationships both internally and externally to build strategic networks and partnerships which enhance community outcomes - Using data to derive insights, monitor trends, determine systemic improvements and implement change initiatives which enhance outcomes for the local community - Establishing and maintaining relationships with peak bodies, governmental agencies, outside agencies, industry and professional associations - Managing and supporting others to deliver the governance framework for community engagement activities, including strategies, plans, procedures and templates - Designing and managing successful brand, campaign, marketing and communication strategies - Planning, delivering and analysing community engagement activities, including digital engagement campaigns **What you'll need to succeed** Attributes and skills required to be successful in this role include: - Ability to set clear directions, and engage, motivate and empower team members to work collaboratively to deliver high quality and sustainable outcomes - Advanced influencing skills with the ability to work alongside and influence a variety of stakeholders - An understanding of local government, other government agencies, its functions, practices, protocols and how to enhance the organisation's advocacy and interactions - Sound commercial acumen, financial management, risk management and negotiation skills with demonstrated ability to make sound business decisions - Well-developed project management skills that result in measurable outcomes **QUALIFICATIONS** - Relevant tertiary qualification in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing or other related field. - Possession of Current C Class Drivers Licence. **What you need to do now** Click "APPLY NOW" forwarding a copy of your resume and cover letter highlighting your strategic communications and engagement experience, your leadership and management skills and your suitability for the role.
