About the Role

The Business Development Consultant is responsible for carrying out strategic community engagement, partnership, business development, and stakeholder engagement activities to engage with community and identify areas for potential growth, partnership, or other capacity building opportunities. The Community Capacity & Business Growth Officer actively engages with the community and community organisations to create community partnerships and to establish referral networks to increase client referrals and participation in the programs that SSI delivers.
The Business Development Consultant will also work closely with the Business Growth team on capacity building projects such as researching and identifying new business opportunities, preparing tenders or grants, gathering information or data, report writing activities, and other associated activities to lead to the overall growth of SSI’s Employment Services programs.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Deliver on projects resulting in increased capacity and business growth for the SSI Employment Services division in the communities that SSI operates in as well as new geographical areas.
- Carry out community engagement, partnership development, and business development activities to build awareness of the SSI brand and the services SSI delivers in the local communities it operates in.
- Work in partnership with community organisations and support the communities that SSI operates in.
- Develop positive business relationships and establish SSI as a “provider of choice” for community organisations, industry bodies, and other referral providers.
- Ensure high level quality customer service, record keeping, and full compliance in line with SSI’s service
- delivery model, SSI’s policies and procedures, and any contractual guidelines and requirements.

Selection Criteria
- Qualifications in Business Management, Project Management, Marketing, or similar qualification desirable or be willing to work toward
- Customer centric approach and the ability to work towards customer service standards, KPIs, and targets.
- Excellent communication skills, including presentation skills, negotiation skills, persuasive ability, and the ability to build rapport
- Relationship building skills, and the ability to grow networks and new business relationships with clients, employers, industry, and community.
- Good working knowledge of local, state, and national labour markets.
- Strong ethics, accountability, and integrity.
