The purpose of this role is to provide technical, investigatory and operational advice on Roads and Drainage Asset Management and Geographical Information System (GIS) enabling the effective management of Council’s Asset Data and driving business, and asset management outcomes for the Transport and Stormwater Infrastructure asset networks. Knowledge of Asset Management Principles is essential for this position, with an ability to work autonomously and to undertake responsibility for data capture, integrity checking, system upgrades and process improvements

**Key responsibilities**:

- Contribute the development of Digital Engineering (DE) Framework within the Roads directorate, aligning the long-term outcomes of Council.
- Manage asset and non-asset data, systems and connectivity across Transport and Stormwater corridors, precincts, catchments, and regions using digital engineering and building information modelling.
- Involvement in digital and software requirements definition and contribute and oversee digital and software development projects
- Engage and manage consulting engineers and/or contractors in the provision of professional services related to roads and drainage asset and corridor management data, inspections/surveys, and systems.
- Provide advice to internal and external customers in relation to asset and service related enquires utilising Council’s asset management systems.
- Contribute as technical expert in road and drainage asset management data, systems and technology.

**Essential experience**:

- High level of GIS preferably ESRI
- Ability to demonstrate extensive developed computer skills is essential including an ability to demonstrate sound knowledge of relational databases, including their operation and function
- Experience in Tactical Asset Management
- Extensive knowledge of Asset Management Principles
- Undertake responsibility for data capture, integrity checking, system upgrades and process improvements.
- Strong knowledge of Identifying and analyzing trends, review data and evaluate business options
- Knowledge of Asset Management Principles with an ability to work autonomously and to undertake responsibility for data capture, integrity checking, system upgrades and process improvements
