**Purpose of Position**:
We are currently seeking an experienced Site Safety Technology Supervisor on a permanent full-time basis to join our Autonomous Road Train project team based in Perth. The role of the Site Safety Technology Supervisor is to help implement safe autonomous site principles. To ensure the implementation and configuration of safety Hexagon safety technologies and ongoing management of the autonomous safety technology stack of the Hexagon Autonomous Road Train program at Mineral Resources’ Onslow Iron Ore project.
**Major Areas of Responsibility**:
- Provide FIFO and Perth-based management of the Autonomous Road Trains safety technology teams (Safety Technology Engineers).
- Recruitment and retention of the FIFO and Perth-Based teams implementing and operating the system.
- Participate and manage the ongoing risk assessments and mitigations of the autonomous road train program.
- Alongside the Autonomous Program Manager, manage the executive communication with internal and external stakeholders.
- Manage the team responsible for the installation, commissioning, and operation of Hexagon safety technology from the office and on-site in remote locations.
- Provide training, instruction, and advice to our customers on the effective use and operation of our solutions in their operation.
- Regular review of the safety technology data for a continuous, data-driven risk assessment approach
- Lead the data analysis and report development for all incidents, accidents, and near miss safety risks.
- Justify and document the changes to safety technology configurations managing levels of approvals across identified stakeholders.
- Recruitment, Retention, and Management of safety technology teams
- Smoothly moving the system from deployment into operation via agreed milestones with the customer
- Managing the FIFO roster of onsite teams.
- Identifying issues and opportunities for improvement with Hexagon Mining operational systems installed at customer mine sites and re-configuring systems as required.
- Preparing reports on the performance of the deployed solution at the client site and recommendations for improvements as required.
- Utilizing relationships developed with customers and other contacts to advise support teams of potential issues affecting customers.
- Compliance with Hexagon Mining’s Workplace Health and Safety policies and procedures (and those of clients’ sites visited), participation in audits, and compliance with instructions given with respect to the health of oneself and the safety of others.
- Attend site and company meetings as required (Pre-starts, shift handover)
- Representing Hexagon Mining in a helpful, professional, and courteous manner at all times
- Other duties as required from time to time.
**Knowledge and Experience - Required**:
- Experience leading a FIFO technology team in mining.
- Experience with Fleet Management, Autonomous Mission Management, Collision Avoidance Systems, Onboard Autonomy, and By-wire.
- Experience with risk assessment frameworks such as the EMERST safety framework, the Code of Practice for Safe Mobile Autonomous Mining in Western Australia, GMG Guidelines, etc.
- Experience with qualitative and data-driven risk assessments and continuous safety improvement methodologies.
- Experience with configuration management of fleet management systems to optimize production.
- Autonomous Systems Mining experience/exposure
- High level of Safety awareness and Safety supervision skills (Section 26 preferred)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Keen interest in providing a superior level of customer service and support to our clients.
- Willingness to learn new skills and be trained in Hexagon products.
- Ability to work proactively with mínimal supervision.
- Ability to work effectively in a local and global team environment.
- Experience working in the mining industry. Global experience desirable.
- Familiar with contract haulage and Road trains preferred.
**Travel**:
- This role is a Fly-in Fly-out roles at the Onslow Iron Ore (Ashburton) and will be on an 8:6 Roster once the mine is up and running. Prior to this adhoc travel may be required during site testing and system training.
