As a Practitioner Scholar, you will possess a high level of connectivity between the education of pre-service teachers, your own contemporary practical teaching experiences, and engagement within one or more of the Primary, Early Childhood, or Secondary sectors. The successful appointee will provide critical capacity for academic teams within the relevant discipline, with a particular focus on delivering high-quality contemporary teaching.

Our teaching and research address the most critical challenges in the field, including teaching, learning, and educational leadership; sport, health, and wellness; language, literacy, and numeracy; higher education pedagogy and curricular development; assessment and evaluation; interdisciplinary and innovative research approaches; and educational equity in local, national, and international contexts.
Capabilities
Master’s degree (Research); or Bachelor Honours Degree (First or Upper Second class); and/or enrolled in a PhD.
Leadership through formal school-based roles, or engagement with the profession locally or nationally.
Expertise gained from a min 5-year practical experience, and a strong pedagogical approach to education in the relevant discipline.
Proven track record of teaching excellence within the relevant industry and discipline.
Demonstrated sound knowledge of the unit content and material, and use of current disciplinary research in teaching activities.
Delivery of research or inquiry-led curricula.
Evidence of contemporary technology enhanced learning activities.
Behaviours aligned with ECU Values, as verified through referee checks.
Hold a current Working with Children Check and National Criminal Record Check.
Teacher Registration in Western Australia (or eligibility).
Benefits & Remuneration
These ongoing fulltime or part time (as negotiated) positions attract remuneration of $108,494 plus 17% University superannuation contribution.
