The Role
A Lecturer (Practitioner Scholar) within the School of Education postgraduate teaching program provides critical capacity to teaching within the Master of Education program, influencing strategic and proactive engagement with industry, the profession, and communities. The appointee should have a high level of connectivity between the education of practicing teachers, their own contemporary practical teaching experiences particularly at a leadership level, and engagement within the industry to;
Ensure postgraduate course curriculum remains responsive to contemporary industry needs
Leverage existing and extensive links with senior industry practitioners to build the School’s partnerships with the profession
Promote viable opportunities for professional learning and short courses
Promote industry practitioners’ enrolment in postgraduate courses and
Ensure applied contemporary professional practice is integrated within postgraduate teaching and content pedagogy.
Now is an exciting time to be joining the School for commencement in 2025. We are particularly seeking experienced academics and /or senior educational leaders from industry with expertise to teach in one or more of the following Master of Education specialisations: Assessment, Educational Leadership, Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL), and Research Methods. Expertise to teach both face to face and online is required. Willingness to teach and travel for compacted offshore teaching, in Vietnam and/or China, would be highly regarded.
Capabilities Required
A Doctorate in Education, or close to conferral of the doctorate.
Senior leadership experience gained from a min 5 years practical experience in a senior educational leadership role, and a strong pedagogical approach to education in the relevant discipline.
Extensive connections with industry at a senior level, including experience at a policy level.
Evidence of contemporary technology enhanced learning activities.
Behaviours aligned with ECU Values, as verified through referee checks.
Hold a current Working with Children Check, National Criminal Record Check, and registration (or eligibility) with WA Teachers Board.

Benefits & Remuneration
This position attracts remuneration of $113,918 - $134,595 p.a plus 17% University superannuation contribution.
