**Lead Educator - Part Time**

Are you looking for a new environment where your voice is heard and children matter?

Gaythorne Community Kindergarten is a unique service. We are a community kindergarten with two rooms. Our uniqueness comes from our Pre Kindy room which is where we need your expertise. We operate an 8.30 - 2.30 core programme for 2-4 year olds for a maximum of 21 children. Extending on this core programme is Before Hours Care from 7.15am and After Hours Care until 4.45pm.

Pre Kindy is the ideal compliment to our traditional Kindergarten programme, by supporting children to become familiar with being in an education environment outside the home but not for the long hours of a typical centre. Your role incorporates the need to encourage children to develop social and independence skills before their next step into the Kindergarten programme.

We believe that early childhood is a critical learning period in children's lives and that play enables our children to explore, problem solve, develop friendships, imagine, and extend their capabilities from a holistic perspective.

We provide an inclusive environment, natural play spaces, and recognise the need for sustainable practices. Our play spaces are open-ended, incorporate loose parts, and encourage children and their families to take an active role in their learning and development.

We are looking for somebody to share the Lead position in this room. The shift hours cover 7.00am to 5.00pm. The hours incorporate Before and After Hours Care for all our enrolled children.

**The position will be in the Pre Kindy room with days and hours to be negotiated and will commence as soon as possible.**

Applicants will have:

- Diploma in Early Childhood (or equivalent qualification recognised by ACECQA) or studying towards a Diploma.
- Industry experience
- Current Working with Children Blue Card
- Up to date First Aid, CPR, Asthma & Anaphylaxis Certificates
- Experience with the National Quality Framework (NQF) and Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF)
- Effective team player who models professional and ethical behaviour
- Knowledge of and commitment to children's safety and wellbeing.
- Experience in supporting the implementation of a planned/spontaneous program.
- Paid educator meetings
- Participate in some outside of hour's events and community engagement activities throughout the year when available.
