**Policy Officer (APS6)**

**About the role**

An initial 6 - 12 month non-ongoing APS contract is on offer.

**_Please note: _**Only Australian citizens with the ability to obtain/maintain a Baseline clearance can be considered for this role.

**Duties**:

- contribute to the planning, drafting and implementation of policies and objectives
- prepare draft reports, briefing papers, speeches, Ministerial correspondence and discussion papers
- build and maintain productive relationships internal and external stakeholders

**Requisite skills/experience**:

- demonstrated experience in policy analysis and development
- high level written and verbal communication skills
- good relationship building skills with the ability to discuss, negotiate and persuade on policy with both internal and external stakeholders
- good analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills in order to identify and respond to opportunities, issues and risks in policy
- an interest in, or knowledge and understanding of, housing and homelessness issues and its interactions with other social and economic policies
