**About the role**
As a member of Scooter Hut’s management team, you will hold responsibility and accountability for the delivery of agreed financial objectives and operational excellence across the Scooter Hut Retail Store portfolio. You will be responsible for the development and implementation of sales strategy, analysis, and provide supporting professional commentary on market trends. Being a charismatic leader, you will lead, coach, and develop team members to achieve financial and operational objectives and prepare them for broader responsibilities whilst being passionate for maintaining the highest of quality standards at all times.
On a day-to-day basis you will:
Maintain store staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
- Maintain store staff job results by coaching, counselling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
- Achieve financial objectives by preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analysing variances; initiating corrective actions.
- Manage and maintain all functions (including pricing, products, administrative) in POS software and hardware.
- Manage stocktakes across the retail network and report discrepancies/concerns to the Business Manager.
- Identify current and future customer requirements by establishing professional rapport with key industry stakeholders.
- Ensure availability of merchandise and services by placing orders in a timely manner whilst maintaining healthy retail location inventories.
- Be willing to travel as required, for store visits and staff training/meetings.
- Formulate pricing policies by reviewing merchandising activities; determining additional needed sales promotion; obtaining authorisation for local clearance sales.
- Market merchandise by studying advertising, sales promotion, and display plans; analysing operating and financial statements for profitability ratios.
Secure merchandise by closely maintaining security systems and measures.
- Protect employees and customers by providing a safe, healthy and clean Retail outlet environment.
- Provide regular professional commentary to update Senior Management with regular departmental financial and operational performance figures.
- Assist in developing monthly, quarterly and yearly goals and objectives, and create departmental strategies in order to achieve agreed metrics.
- Maintain the stability and reputation of the store by complying with all State and Federal requirements.
- Determine local and national marketing strategy changes by reviewing operationaland financial statements and departmental sales records.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by reviewing professional publications; establishing industry networks; participating in social media comment.
- Maintain operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing Scooter Hut policies and procedures.
- Contribute to the overall team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Carry out duties as deemed necessary, if and when required, to meet business requirements.
**About you**
Key knowledge requirements include:
- Tertiary qualification/s in Sales/Business/Marketing management.
- Demonstrated experience in the Sales/Operations/Marketing/Retail sector.
- Knowledge and experience in organisational effectiveness, team working and performance management.
- Knowledge/experience of common business and management principles and practices
- Knowledge/experience of common financial and accounting principles and practices
- Knowledge/experience of common human resource principles and practices
- PC literacy and/or Information Technology skills
