**About the Role**

As the Specialist Coordinator you will be responsible for providing leadership and support with the Speech Pathology department. You will closely with the Speech Pathology Manager to oversee daily operations, supervise staff, develop services and implement changes within the service to ensure optimal client outcomes.

**What we are looking for**:

- Bachelor of Science (Speech Pathology) or equivalent
- Current membership with the Speech Pathology Association of Australia. The membership must be maintained throughout the duration of employment with Joondalup Health Campus
- Extensive post-graduate experience in the relevant clinical area
- Demonstrated high level of expertise in required area of clinical practice (e.g. through publications, research or contribution to symposia or colloquia)
- Proven ability to identify area of need and development of advanced clinical education and supervision / mentorship to all departmental staff and discipline specific students
- Ability to identify and drive service development within specific allocated area
- Advanced experience and knowledge in formulating and reviewing evidence based clinical protocols/work practices in clinical area
- Provide sound clinical governance of clinical programs and practice, including the reporting and investigation of adverse events and clinical risk management
- Proven ability to provide leadership by coordinating and motivating an allocated team within your specific allied health department
- Proven ability to work collaboratively and effectively within your professional team
- Proven ability to plan, initiate and report on Key Performance Indicators, quality improvement activities and evaluate the effectiveness of service provision in allocated area
- Proven ability to collect, analyses interpret and present clinical data, including use of appropriate statistical tools and methods
- Identify training needs and develop appropriate educational programs in line with departmental and team goals
- Demonstrated ability to pro-actively liaise and negotiate with Ward Managers, doctors and other key stakeholders as required, regarding the provision of ward-based and outpatient services
- Ability to contribute to department management through the possession of a sound undertaking of hospital management structures, processes and governance
