**The Role**
The role is responsible for assisting to manage Defence’s capital works program, which is comprised of a significant number of individual capital works projects. This includes:
- Developing and maintaining project planning, development and delivery processes on relevant systems, including Holocentric/Modelpedia.
- Developing and maintaining project planning, development and delivery related templates, resources and training materials.
- Developing and maintaining new tools and systems to improve project and program management and performance including via Micorsoft365 (including SharePoint and PowerBi).
- Working with industry (project managers, designers and construction contractors) to capture lessons learnt and observations, and integrate these into processes, resources, templates, tools and systems.
- Providing support to project teams on policy and process requirements, and managing incoming projects.
- Engaging with relevant stakeholders to represent CFI’s interests.
This role is eligible for an additional remuneration benefit known in Defence as a Building Defence Capability Payment (BDCP). This enables Defence to provide a premium, in addition to the base salary otherwise payable under the Defence Enterprise Agreement (DEA), for positions in occupational disciplines/classifications that are critical to Defence capability. **About our Team**
Capital Facilities and Infrastructure Branch (CFI) is responsible for planning, developing and delivering capital works projects across the Defence estate. The Defence estate is the Commonwealth’s largest landholding and its facilities and infrastructure are essential in ensuring Defence can meet its purpose and mission.
Directorate Program Management (DPM) is one of CFI’s key Directorates: it is responsible for managing Defence’s capital works program and providing support to the individual projects within the program. DPM is responsible for a broad remit including financial management; governance, data and reporting; workgroup coordination; security management and, most relevant to the position, developing systems, processes, resources and templates; conducting programming and scheduling activities including managing incoming projects; and representing CFI’s interest through consultation activities.
DPM is actively looking to enhance its approach to managing Defence’s capital works program. This includes by providing clear and useful processes and resources, increasing collaboration with relevant stakeholders, and introducing new and innovative ways of doing business in consultation with industry.
