Workplace Design Lead

The Workplace Design Lead plays a key role in delivering Perpetual’s Future Fit Workplace project. This role will support and enable the creation of workplaces that align to Perpetual’s strategic business goals and company direction.

The Workplace Design Lead - Workplace Experience will:

- Translate business strategy and objectives into Workplace design
- Lead and deliver all workplace design activities across the Perpetual portfolio of properties
- Create design standards and principles that maximise the benefits of our Future Fit Workplace strategy.

**Job Description**:

- Lead all workplace design initiatives for Perpetual
- Support the delivery of Perpetual’s Future Fit Workplace project as the Design Lead
- Create the design brief and scope for Future Fit Workplace
- Act as custodian of our design vision through the project lifecycle
- Help develop any associated processes required to deliver workplace design to Perpetual
- Inform the development of our workplace experience technology and tools from a workplace design perspective
- Conduct intelligent space planning, workplace modelling and test fits
- Conduct furniture and product prototyping leveraging from vendor relationships
- Work closely with the Future Workplace project team and vendors to deliver optimal fit-out programs
- Design workplaces to support Hybrid work practices that optimise performance and engagement based on location
- Procure, direct and manage vendor relationships including external design firms, Greenstar and Well consultants
- Create a live ‘global’ design standard (kit of parts) for Perpetual to guide future fit outs and workplace standards
- Identify value add, savings or efficiencies through methods such as ECI
- Participate in, or lead, workplace strategy activities that inform design, particularly gathering ‘voice of the customer’ input (workshops etc).
- Work closely with Perpetual’s Branding and Marketing team to ensure workplace design reflects our marketing strategy/position.
- Assist with building evaluations from a workplace design perspective
- Actively participate in an environment that supports teamwork, cooperation, performance excellence and personal success
- Undertaking research, analysing and synthesising raw data and communicating insights from research.

To be considered for this opportunity, your qualifications, skills and experience could include:
- Tertiary qualifications in Architecture or Design, qualifications in Greenstar, Project Management, Property an advantage
- Must have demonstrated experience in activity-based working design projects and other agile workplace models (such as agile and flexible working, hotdesking) within a corporate environment.
- Demonstrated experience participating in wholesale workplace transformation programmes.
- A sound understanding of design tools and technology such as Procore, Adobe suite and technical drafting Software
- An understanding of the relationship between hybrid working and supporting information technology and systems/apps.
- An understanding of, or exposure to, process optimisation, value engineering and managing and mitigating project scope is desirable
- Experience working to portfolio wide design standards
- An understanding of the relationships between physical space (work points), location (home/office/other) and employee performance
- Experience designing to workplace standards such as BCA, Greenstar and Well 2
- Experience preparing SOW’s and tendering for external vendors and managing associated relationships/deliverables
- Project management skills - ability to manage multiple initiatives and projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated experience working with integrated design and delivery team and a solid understanding of project team dynamics
- Confidence in buildability and balancing the relationship between design, programme, and project financial synchronicity
- Ability to toggle between strategy development & tactical execution.
- Current knowledge of workplace innovations and design trends
- Sound understanding of workplace technologies and associated IT infrastructure
- Collaborative approach, strong relationship building and stakeholder management skills.
