**This role is an Australia-based, fully work-from-home position, with access to co-working spaces in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.**

At Montu, we’re transforming healthcare access through technology — and we’re looking for a **Technical Lead** to help us scale, innovate, and deliver best-in-class digital experiences.

In this pivotal role, you'll set the technical direction and elevate the performance of a high-performing engineering team. You’ll work hands-on to design scalable, secure systems, mentor engineers, and champion continuous improvement — all while ensuring our platform is aligned with the broader mission of delivering personalised alternative health services to thousands of patients.

**What You’ll Do**
- ** Lead with purpose** - Set strategic direction and drive technical excellence across major projects and systems.
- ** Code with confidence** - Design and build scalable solutions using React, Node.js/NestJS, GraphQL, AWS, and more.
- ** Mentor & elevate** - Uplift the skills and capabilities of the team through coaching, code reviews, and pairing sessions.
- ** Collaborate cross-functionally** - Partner with engineering managers, product teams, and business stakeholders to turn ideas into impactful solutions.
- ** Champion best practices** - Lead architectural decisions, ensure clean, testable code, and continuously improve tooling and delivery processes.
- ** Drive innovation** - Identify opportunities to improve system performance, reduce tech debt, and explore emerging technologies.

**Qualifications**
- A strong software engineering background with experience leading technical teams and delivering high-impact products.
- Deep expertise in modern web technologies - TypeScript, React, Node.js, GraphQL, and AWS.
- Experience working across the SDLC with a clean architecture mindset and a focus on scalability and maintainability.
- Proven ability to influence, mentor, and inspire others while maintaining a hands-on technical presence.
- Excellent communication skills - able to translate technical details into clear business value.
- A growth mindset with a passion for continuous learning and improvement.
