The Communications team of the Corporate Services branch provides innovative, best practice advice and support, ensuring information reaches the right people, using the right channel, at the right time. The team has responsibility for internal and external communication, including websites, intranets, social media, graphic design, publications and forms, corporate publications, content management and communication strategy and events.

We are looking for a **Communications Officer** to play an important role in supporting the development and publication of products and in the overall communication activities of the Courts and the Tribunal.

You will need:

- excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective working relationships
- initiative and the ability to work independently
- multi-skilling capabilities and an interest in broadening your skills base
- sound organisational skills, record keeping practices and good attention to detail
- the ability to work with limited supervision and to make informed decisions about priorities on a day-to-day basis
- high level written and oral communication skills, including writing for a range of channels
- the ability to establish good working relationships with judicial officers and court staff, and
- an understanding of the components of effective communication.

The successful applicant will assist all areas of the team, including:

- producing and/or updating of court publications including the internal staff newsletters, publications, forms, brochures and the annual reports
- assisting with the development of reports, strategies and communication plans
- coordinating printing and design tasks and liaising with registries on the cost effective management of forms and other court products
- assisting with the implementation of communication strategies and other projects as required, and
- assisting with social media posts, monitoring and reports.

**Selection criteria**
- Experience in communication demonstrated through qualifications in public relations, marketing communication, journalism and/or other relevant qualifications and experience, preferably within government.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills including the ability to research, write and edit materials for publication in both print and online environments.
- The ability to represent the Court in a variety of situations and to a range of audiences, including external organisations, other government agencies and stakeholder groups.
- Demonstrated ability to support the development and implementation of communication strategies as demonstrated through creativity and innovation, the capacity to manage projects with a focus on achieving goals, personal drive and integrity and the ability to exercise judgment and provide communication advice to Court business areas.
- The ability to manage multiple projects and monitor work flows and standards to meet tight deadlines.
- Demonstrated resilience and a team approach to work a high pressure environment.
