Exciting opportunity for a motivated and creative APS 5 Communications Officer with a passion for social media to join the Communications team of a Federal Government Department that is highly regarded for their collaborative and supportive culture.

You will work within a small but dynamic Communications team, who are responsible for managing a range of internal and external communications, including but not limited to intranet, information circulars and social media channels.

**This is initially a 12 month non-ongoing role. Parliamentary triangle location, free parking, free onsite gym and free childcare. This agency invests in people and provides excellent training. Positive engaged team, and culture of collaboration. Due to the nature of the agency, this role will be based in the office full-time, with adhoc days WFH supported.**

**Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities**:

- Support the publishing of internal and external communications, including the publishing of content across the intranet, information circulars and social media channels
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders
- Demonstrate strong written communication skills, as well as edit and review materials prepared by others
- Assist with social media content planning and development, including developing engaging content and content plans.
- Contribute to a forward calendar of social content and work closely with business areas and to produce content
- Assist with the publication of social media material across the department's accounts.
- Support communication activities and content planning across the broader team as required.

You will also gain exposure to the broader work of the Communications team.

**Skills and Experience required**:

- A degree in communications or related discipline will be highly regarded but is not mandatory
- Experience working in communications or social media ideally within the public sector
- Experience with Sitecore or other content management system
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced team environment with competing priorities
- Strong relationship building skills and ability to work effectively across all levels
- The ability to deliver creative and engaging digital content
- Collaborative mindset and ability to support and contribute to a strong team culture
- Australian Citizenship and ability to obtain a Baseline security clearance essential
