**About the **role**:A Local city council is offering an excellent opportunity for an experienced and self-motivated professional to provide support to their Cyber Security Program implementation by providing the capacity to develop, establish and implement artefacts / processes / systems to further mature their cyber security capability to. The role reports directly to the Information Security Officer.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Assist with the delivery of our cybersecurity strategy
- Undertake vulnerability assessments
- Assist in preparing summary and technical reports detailing security issues and providing recommendations
- Perform incident responses as required
- Receive and analyse network alerts from various sources within the enterprise and determine possible causes of such alerts.
- Provide periodic summary reports of network events and activity relevant to cyber defence practices.
- Ensure that customer’s key infrastructure is secured
- Monitor ongoing customer managed service environment

**Key Requirements**:

- Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Cyber Security Analyst or equivalent role, with a willingness to do a variety of related tasks
- Skills and experience performing cyber security related functions:

- Facilitation of security incident response testing, capturing learnings and updating related procedures/guidelines
- An understanding of one or more security concepts, e.g.Web Application Security, Security technologies such as firewalls, SIEM, IPS, etcand understanding of Vulnerability assessments process
- Working experience in one of the following: Qualys or Nessus Vulnerability Scanners
- Knowledge of MS Azure Infrastructure
- Experience in Microsoft365
- Experience in Microsoft Defender for Endpoint
- Excellent attention to detail as well as communication skills
- Work under broad direction
- Proactively build and maintain relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders, including third party vendors/service providers
