As one of the largest packaging companies in Australia and New Zealand, Opal Specialty Packaging provides tailored cardboard-based packaging solutions for small, medium and large businesses. We have an exciting opportunity to join the Opal team as our site in Oakleigh is currently looking for a Dispatch Coordinator to come onboard
The key focus of this role will be to:
- Plan loads to maximize fleet utilization.
- Process interstate deliveries and ensure timely trailer loading.
- Supervise team members, ensuring clarity in job responsibilities.
- Coordinate resources, including managing leave and overtime.
- Maintain a strong customer focus to achieve DIFOT targets.
- Implement and comply with OH&S policies and procedures.
- Ensure safe, compliant, and efficient operations (such as: ensuring the training and documentation is completed by the relevant stakeholders).
- Maintain inventory accuracy and conduct regular stock takes.

For this role we would ideally like you to have:
- A forklift licence and relevant experience is required
- Experience working in dispatch operations (ideally leading a team)
- Experience in using Microsoft Suite programs (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Keen attention to detail and quality
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a small team
- Strong communication skills and team player mentality
- Prioritization and decision-making abilities
