Melbourne- Investment Banking- PermanentThis is a great opportunity to work in close support of the head of a petroleum commercial trading business in Melbourne. This is a unique opportunity to forge a career in an oil or petroleum trading or broker function.

Our client is a leading global oil and petrol supply business, and this is working in their small commercial supply head office in Melbourne. **The ideal profile for this position would be a recent graduate with a good educational profile, and some junior level experience in commodity supply logistics.**

A Bachelor degree in a Science, Agri, Commodities or Finance discipline would probably be a neat fit. The focus on this position is to coordinate commercial supply of petroleum, which includes logistics coordination and as you become more senior then commercial contract negotiation for supply of oil and petroleum product. As such, this position requires very strong communication skills, and commercial acumen.

**Responsibilities will include**:

- Management of all inbound shipping operations
- Liaising with agents, terminal operators and statutory authorities
- Analysing, forecasting and optimization of cargoes
- Commercial analysis and adhoc reporting
- Support commercial manager
- Contract management

**Requirements needed**:

- Maximum of 1 - 4 years of post-university experience in a similar role.
- Ability to work well as part of a team in a busy, high-pressure environment
- Be self-motivated and highly committed
- Strong communication skills, both orally and written
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to recognise and allocate priorities
- Strong analytical and forecasting skills including the develop and operation of spread sheets
- Strong commercial capabilities
- Petroleum industry experience is beneficial

**The salary is somewhat open for the successful applicant, although the role is best suited for an applicant probably 1 to 4yrs out of university, with a salary in line with this level of experience.
