**Overview of the team and role**

The Chief Data Office (CDO) team is part of the Scheme Management Group and is responsible for ensuring that Comcare takes a mature and sophisticated approach to the management and use of data. To achieve that, the Chief Data Officer works across Comcare to:

- Improve enterprise data governance.
- Foster a data driven organisational culture.
- Deliver better insights through new platforms and capability uplift.
- Ensure data architecture and data models cater for versatile reporting and analytics needs.
- Delineate impacts within our data environment to facilitate a better understanding and implementation of effective controls.
- Create a framework that helps people understand their responsibilities when it comes to data.
- Embed continuous improvement in process and quality of data captures.
- Ensure consistency in the description of common data terms.
- Ensure data is leveraged effectively to solve business problems.
- Enable data capability gaps to be identified and addressed across Comcare so that Groups can be more self-sufficient in working with data.

Reporting to the Data Governance and Strategy Manager, the Data Governance Lead will co-ordinate and lead the development, maintenance and embedding of data governance policies, procedures and related initiatives to ensure responsible use and management of data across Comcare.

The Data Governance Lead will be building upon an existing foundation which comprises a Data Governance Framework, Data Stewardship Network with representatives from across Comcare, a best-practice Data Catalogue and supporting policies and procedures.

**Mandatory Experience**
- Experience developing and maintaining enterprise documentation such as policies and procedures.
- Experience collaborating with stakeholders to deliverer enterprise change initiatives.
- Professional or technical experience in governance, data management, policy development or related areas.

**Security Clearance**

This role requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Baseline Security Clearance.
