**About the Department for Correctional Services**

The Department employs approximately 2,000 staff and has responsibility for nine prisons and fifteen Community Correctional offices across the state. Our vision is for a safer community by protecting the public and reducing re-offending. We work towards this through the contribution of staff who are employed in a wide variety of fields, from correctional officers and teachers, to social workers, psychologists and supervisors of court orders. **Duties**

The Manager Strategic Procurement and Contract Management is accountable to the Director, Procurement and Contract Management for the provision of a high-level comprehensive procurement services and contract management including:

- Providing effective team leadership, supervision and mentoring to the Procurement Team and Contract Management Team and other branch staff involved in providing advice and support to ensure best practice and management delivery to the organisation.
- Providing expert procurement and contract management consultancy and advisory service to the Department including senior managers and employees on a range of complex strategic projects and critical procurement processes.
- Significantly contributing to the development, implementation, maintenance and review of procurement policies and contract management framework, systems and practices.
- Liaising with key stakeholders and providers to establish and maintain sound business
- Participate in coordination of contract management of major projects

**Special Conditions**
- Section 47 of the Public Sector Act 2009 applies in conjunction with other provisions of the act and other applicable industrial entitlements.
- The incumbent is required to satisfactorily complete a National Criminal History Check.
- A current South Australian Driver's Licence is essential.
- A flexible approach to working hours is required.
- Some interstate and intrastate travel will be required which may necessitate overnight absences.

**Requirements**:
Essential: Nil

Desirable: Appropriate Tertiary qualification in business, commerce, procurement or related disciplines.

**Remuneration**

ASO7 ($108,109 - $116,864 pa)
