**The Parklife Metro Consortium is working on an exciting new metro rail infrastructure project in Greater Western Sydney.**

This city shaping project, which will be delivered under a Public Private Partnership, will provide a major economic stimulus for Western Sydney.

WeBuild as a D&C Contractor member, will be responsible for the successful delivery of the design and construction elements of the project, and we are currently looking to appoint an experienced Emergency Response Coordinator.

**Job Summary**

Support the Health and Safety Manager in the development and maintenance of the project’s Emergency Response Management System.

Provides direct assistance and guidance on Emergency Response matters to PLM D&C and Subcontractor personnel.

**Key responsibilities**
- Develop and maintain Emergency Response Documentation Systems, Plans, Procedures, Standards and facilities to reflect changing operational circumstances and best industry practice.
- Undertake pre-qualification and tender evaluation reviews of prospective contractors in the area of Emergency Response
- Coordinate emergency response drills and exercises to ensure employees are prepared to handle various emergency scenarios.
- Collaborate with relevant departments to identify potential emergency risks and hazards on construction sites.
- Conduct risk assessments to determine the adequacy of existing emergency response procedures and make necessary improvements.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations, standards, and legislation in relation to emergency response protocols.
- Serve as the main point of contact during emergency situations and lead the response efforts effectively.
- Liaise with external emergency services, such as firefighters and paramedics, to coordinate their involvement in emergency scenarios.
- Maintain emergency response equipment and ensure it is regularly inspected and in proper working condition.
- Establish communication protocols during emergencies to keep employees, contractors, and relevant stakeholders informed and safe.
- Conduct post-incident reviews and evaluations to identify areas for improvement in the emergency response process.
- Develop and maintain relationships with local authorities and emergency service agencies to enhance response capabilities.
- Collaborate with Health and Safety teams to integrate emergency response plans into the overall safety management system.
- Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and emerging trends in emergency response and crisis management.
- Ensure that emergency response training and procedures are consistent across all construction sites and projects.

**Qualifications & Experience**:

- Recognised and relevant Qualifications in Occupational Health and Safety, Emergency Management, or a related field.
- Proven experience (at least 5 years) in emergency response coordination, preferably in the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of emergency management principles, procedures, and best practices.
- Familiarity with relevant safety regulations and standards in the construction sector.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills to effectively coordinate emergency response efforts.
- Ability to remain calm and make quick decisions during high-stress situations.
- Current Training and certification or readiness to gain certification in first aid, CPR, and emergency response procedures.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, including employees, contractors, and emergency services personnel.
- Knowledge of relevant emergency response equipment and its proper usage.
