**Your new company**

Work with a Victorian Public Sector (VPS) department or local government. These organisations provide vital services to the wider community, and are professional and dynamic working environments.

**Your new role**

As a Communications expert, you’ll be responsible for the creation and management of external or internal communications within the organisation. You'll be reporting to the Manager of Communications, supporting the department and the community as a whole.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

- Supporting staff and stakeholders through high quality communications
- External communication across all platforms
- Delivery of relevant communications in short time frames
- Drafting media and press releases, video scripts, speeches, and newsletters
- Answering enquiries from the media
- Internal communication drafting as required

**What you'll need to succeed**

This is a full-time position, Monday to Friday. Attributes and skills required to be successful in this role include:

- Resilience and adaptability to a fast-changing environment
- Demonstrated experience in strategic communications
- Skills in media liaison with a working knowledge of social media and digital communications
- Strong media relations skills
- Full, unrestricted working rights in Australia
- Prior experience in state or local government communications highly regarded, but not essential
