Immediate start - Melbourne CBD location **Your new role** **Statutory Authority seeks experienced Media and Communications Advisors for full-time, 6-12 month contracts based in Melbourne CBD. As a Media and Communications Advisor, you will manage and deliver content, media and strategic communications advice across various channels to inform and increase engagement. The position requires a keen eye for detail, ability to manage deadlines and multiple projects, and be a confident communicator. You must be available for roster and for after hours on-call duties on a rotating basis. **Key responsibilities** - prepare and review communications collateral including messaging, digital content, promotional material, staging and schedules, as well as provide support for campaigns, events and initiatives. - assist in monitoring, moderating and developing content for online responses on social media and establish a proactive media online presence. - prepare media releases, publicity packages / media kits to support events, partnerships and sponsorships. - perform On-Call Media Officer duties on a roster basis as determined by the Internal Communications Manager and the Media and Communications Director. **Attributes and Skills** - 3+ years' experience in a Corporate Communications or Media role. - Demonstrable experience in producing high quality communications collateral i.e. promotions, digital campaigns, media releases, briefings. - Knowledge of current social media and digital communication tools, rules, processes and procedures. - Demonstrated track record of strong project management/ publications delivery, engaging stakeholders and achieving desired outcomes. - Experience working as a team member on long-term major community-based programs including development of key partner relationships desirable. - Exceptional time management skills, managing multiple and competing priorities. - High competency in Microsoft Office Suite. **Qualifications** - Relevant tertiary Communications qualification or extensive work experience in a related field is desirable. - A current car licence will be required. **What you need to do now** Click "APPLY NOW" forwarding a copy of your resume and cover letter highlighting your media and communications experience and skills, your government and/or emergency management experience, and your suitability for the role.
