**Your next career opportunity**
As a Laboratory Technician in our Chemical, Materials and Manufacturing cluster, you'll play a crucial role in supporting cutting-edge research and teaching activities. You'll have the opportunity to work with state-of-the-art equipment across a diverse range of laboratories, from pilot plants to nanotechnology facilities. Your expertise will be instrumental in maintaining equipment, ensuring safety compliance, and providing technical support to staff and students.

**Your responsibilities will include**:

- Provide Technical Expertise: Deliver expert services and support for teaching and research activities within the CMM cluster.
- Maintain Laboratory Equipment: Ensure all equipment is properly maintained, calibrated, and compliant with safety standards.
- Support Safety and Compliance: Conduct inspections, develop and/or review risk assessments, and maintain documentation to meet OHS requirements.
- Facilitate Research and Teaching: Prepare for practical classes, design experiments, and support specialised processes in chemical engineering.
- Prepare for practical classes and fieldtrips including preparation of long lead time items to support teaching and research activities.

**You will be a great fit if**:
You are a technically skilled professional with a relevant degree or trade qualification in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering or a related field, possessing hands-on experience in laboratory operations and a strong commitment to safety and customer service.

**You will also**:

- Be proficient in working with gas lines, chemicals, and various materials including nanomaterials, metals, polymers and minerals.
- Possess strong problem-solving skills and the ability to develop custom testing solutions.
- Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work both independently and in a team.
- Demonstrate a keen attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high safety standards.
