About the Role

ANZ is embarking on an ambitious and exciting program of work - the integration of ANZ and Suncorp Bank. As a Strategy Manager, Suncorp Bank Integration in our team, reporting to the Senior Strategy Lead, you’ll play a key role in helping to work in partnership with external advisors and ANZ business experts to develop our overall strategy for a specific workstream within the Suncorp Bank Integration, from deal completion through transition to the target end state within the ANZ Group.

**In this role you will bring**:
your strong knowledge and internal network from within an ANZ business or functional domain to help solve integration problems within a high-paced, externally supported environment - for example:
business expertise within Australia Retail & Commercial (ideally value chain breadth across a range of Product, Brand/Marketing, Distribution, Operations functions); and/or

financial planning & analysis expertise; with fluency across our financial datasets, knowledge of the Australia Retail & Commercial revenue/cost base and practiced financial modelling skills

well-honed analytical and communications skills to us define strategic choices for ExCo and Board audiences in a simple, structured, fact-based, compelling and executable manner

**Role Type**: 8-month Secondment/Fixed term opportunity, Full-Time (40 hours/week)

What will your day look like?

**As a Strategy Manager, you will**:
Lead an individual workstream within the Strategy Team, partnering with external advisors and internal SMEs to develop hypotheses, drive problem solving progress through a structured workplan and communication recommended options to stakeholders

Conduct analysis to define strategic choices and key value drivers (e.g. synergies) related to the Suncorp Bank Integration and provide insights into the relative benefits and costs of each option

Identify the risks and implications - customer, commercial, organisational, technology and regulatory - of these strategic choices to inform trade-offs decisions

Facilitate the team’s access to people, data, knowledge, and expertise within your functional domain

Leverage strong stakeholder relationships across the bank to effectively resolve issues and remove barriers to progressing our strategic planning within deadlines

What will you bring?

**Problem solving & analysis**: Advanced problem-solving skills and ability to conduct quantitative and qualitative analyses of customer, bank and industry data to deliver insights to resolve strategic questions

**Creative thinking**: Strong “outside the box” thinking to identify innovative solutions, with a commercial, creative, data-driven mindset to formulate market leading strategies and design actionable initiatives

**Communication skills**: Strong written and verbal communication skills to draft structured and compelling presentations that articulate all aspects of strategy decision making (rationale, objectives, positioning, options, recommendations)

**Relationship management**: Ability to build relationships within your functional domain that engage, influence, and align stakeholders at all levels of the organisation

**Leadership and culture**: Role models and promotes ANZ values, behaviours and culture
