Our ambitions in the Cleaner Energy domain are enterprise-wide in scale and extend beyond the Victorian border. RACV already has multiple initiatives in play across divisions and the Australian Auto Club network that need to be coordinated and delivered to maximise impact and deliver on our organisational objectives. Our aim is to position RACV as a credible and trusted player within the clean energy space through thought leadership, advocacy, products, and solutions.

**About the Opportunity**

As the Commercial Initiatives Manager, you will join the RACV Energy Services' team as it embarks on an ambitious growth plan. You will be responsible for the formation of new commercial partnerships across both the public and private sectors. The role will require rigorous assessment of new opportunities that are presented to RACV by third parties so that RACV prioritises only those concepts that satisfy financial thresholds and / or demonstrate clear strategic alignment. With government’s ever-expanding policy, grant and subsidy framework stimulating the energy transition, the Commercial Initiatives Manager will lead bid and tender submissions to secure substantial tranches of funding through parties like ARENA. This will support RACV’s ambitions to play a pivotal role in the decarbonisation of the Australian economy.

**What you’ll need to be successful**
- Minimum 5 years' energy sector experience (new energy / renewable energy / energy transition experience is desirable)
- A solid understanding of the energy market operations and policy landscape
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business or a related field is required
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a managerial role preferably within a partnership management, business development, strategy, or product function
- Demonstrated record of taking B2B and B2B2C concepts from ideation to commercialisation, within scope, time and financial constraints
- Possess extensive tender writing skills to deliver high quality EOI and tender submissions
- Proven ability to build positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, with aptitude in negotiation and influencing.
- Knowledge and understanding of state/federal funding programs for renewable energy projects
- Possess strong communication skills coupled with project management disciplines, allowing you to mange large stakeholder groups as you go about taking a concept from ideation to commercialisation
- Strong presentation skills (including demonstrate experience communicating efficiently and effectively to senior stakeholders)
- Demonstrate strong commercial acumen to support both external negotiations with prospective commercial partners as well as the development of investment cases.
