**The Company**

An exciting new opportunity has arisen for an Accounting Supervisor to join a challenger bank in the Melbourne CBD. This well established and leading bank is known for its excellent internal culture and fast paced environment.

**The Role**
As the Accounting Supervisor you will be reporting directly to the Head of Finance Operations whilst working in a dynamic team of 8. In this role, you will be expected to complete daily and monthly reconciliations for general ledgers, identify ways to improve processes, liaise with others in Operations and other Finance teams and over see junior members of staff in the team.

**Responsibilities include**:

- Support a culture of continuous improvement within the Finance team and work with Head of Finance Operations to identification and deliver of initiatives and systems to improve process efficiency and effectiveness improve the control environment and performance of reconciliations.
- Develop and implement policies, procedures, and standards of operation for the Finance team to ensure compliant, effective, efficient and documented processes.
- Be a point of reference by providing guidance and support to staff across other teams
- Ensure a strong control environment for Reconciliation activities.
- Lead more complex reconciliation initiatives.
- Liaise with key stakeholders in regard to compliance and risk obligations including auditors and committees.
- Maintain knowledge of industry best practices in regard to reconciliation and implement into the growing team

**About You**
You must be:

- A highly motivated CA/CPA Accounting professional _(either qualified or finalist)_
- Have a forward thinking mindset always open to change and progress within the team
- Strong mindset of maintaining positive staff culture and managing a team
- This individual must demonstrate experience working on financials from a previous commercial firm or Public Practice.
- You will be extremely adaptable and have capability to work on multiple tasks whilst meeting tight deadlines.
- Ability to prioritise workloads and delegate responsibility when required.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment - both leading and participating.
- Experience of working in banks finance teams is preferred but not essential
- 3:2 hybrid and flexible working is available
