**Your new company**
Established in 2014, this independent statutory body provides services and facilities to Victoria's courts. They are currently seeking an experienced Social Professional with expertise in Family Violence, to join their Bendigo team on a temporary basis.
**Your new role**
The FVRP works with registrars, police prosecutors, lawyers and court support services, will liaise with community-based support services, and may be required to provide information in a courtroom. The FVRP will establish and maintain relationships with community agencies and support services so effective referrals are made to ensure the safety of family violence applicants. The FVRP will also be required to support the continuous improvement of the response to family violence.
In your new role you will be responsible for providing case management support to accused persons with a variety of complex needs. Your responsibilities will include:
- Conduct Court ordered assessments and refer Respondents to external ongoing support, case management services and programs to address accountability, behaviour change and other issues contributing to the risk of further family violence.
- Provide information in relation to Respondents and the availability of appropriate services and programs.
- Convey specialist family violence concepts and court procedures to Respondents, staff and stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate, confidential Respondents records including managing information sharing, privacy, confidentiality and consent.
- Contribute to and represent at regular meetings and committees with internal and external stakeholders
**What you'll need to succeed**
In order to be successful in this role you will have extensive experience working with clients who have a variety of complex needs, either as a Social Worker or Case Manager. In addition, you will possess the following:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in social work, psychology, social sciences, criminal justice, or other related field is highly desirable, in addition to demonstrated strong experience working with people who have perpetrated family violence.
- Demonstrated experience and skills in the provision of support, crisis containment, risk assessment, and case coordination.
- Effective communication skills including the ability to deliver information in a concise and grammatically correct manner.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships.
- Ability to pick up new systems and learn new concepts quickly.
