**Role Description**
Join the Gen Re Group’s global Legal and Compliance Department to support corporate secretarial and compliance needs in Australia and New Zealand. Gen Re’s Legal and Compliance Department consists of approximately 30 associates located in various global locations, including Stamford, CT, USA; Cologne, Germany; London, UK; Toronto, Canada; and other global locations.
The team supports Gen Re’s growing reinsurance business units and provides strategic advice on corporate and regulatory issues, assists with structuring and implementation of transactions, coordinates and oversees regulatory relationships, supports the corporate secretarial function for legal entity boards of directors and provides advice and develops/implements policies on key compliance topics, such as data protection, data security, trade sanctions compliance and anti-money laundering compliance, and oversees litigated matters involving Gen Re companies.
The Gen Re legal entities in Australia, General Reinsurance Australia Ltd. and General Reinsurance Life Australia Ltd, which also maintain branches in Auckland, New Zealand, will benefit from the support of a paralegal or compliance analyst with experience to support corporate secretarial work for board of director meetings, as well as support of the local compliance function.
**Role Qualifications and Experience**
- A minimum of 3 to 5 years’ experience as a paralegal or compliance analyst in a law firm or corporate legal or compliance department.
- Experience working on Australian corporate and compliance issues, with insurance or reinsurance knowledge and experience a plus.
- Strong verbal and written communications skills.
- Interpersonal skills/critical thinking skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Planning and organization skills, ability to prioritize workload effectively and attention to detail.
**Education**
Paralegal certification, compliance certification and/or university degree.
