Test Officer

A unique role with an iconic organisation. Science or Engineering Grad / Technician interested in becoming a CHOICE Product Tester

CHOICE is the largest consumer organisation in Australia.

Our aim is to tackle the issues that really matter to consumers, arming them with the information to make confident choices and purchases, and lobbying for change when consumers get a raw deal.

CHOICE's NATA accredited laboratories are Australia's only not-for-profit testing facility for consumer goods. We test whitegoods, home entertainment technology, computer equipment, kitchen appliances, sound gear, baby products and much, much more—all with the aim of equipping consumers with reliable and unbiased information.

About the position*

As part of the Reviews and Testing team you will support a core function of the organisation by conducting comparative product test projects and reporting results to key internal stakeholders.

Reporting to the Team Leader you will learn to run a portfolio of white goods product tests, trials and reviews and present data that will ultimately inform the Australian public about which products are best for them.
- Conduct comparative product tests and trials, as well as new product reviews
- Prepare test reports and summaries of technical outcomes
- Help design and maintain consumer-focused technical test methods to compare product performance
- Ensure effective liaison with internal and external customers

**About you**

We know you are scientifically minded and enjoy working with data and things; most likely in lab settings, but what sets you apart is your desire to use your skills in an organisation with a mission that benefits us all.
- Tertiary qualification in science or engineering
- 2+ years experience conducting tests in a laboratory setting
- Demonstrated consumer product knowledge or interest
