About You
You know how good policy is made and you want to put your knowledge to work at a renowned and respected organisation that has been fighting for Australian consumers for more than 65 years.
You want to understand issues deeply and push for meaningful change, and learn how to build public support for an idea.
- Exhibit strong policy research skills
- Demonstrated experience in the public service, an NGO, or a political office
- Skillful writing, with ability to to cut through policy jargon, get to the heart of an issue and explain why it matters
- Versatile mind that enjoys dipping in and out of different subjects and managing competing priorities
- Strategic thinker who can get across a topic quickly and sniff out an opportunity to make an impact
About The Role
Reporting to the Head of Policy and Government Relations, you will work closely with the Campaigns and Communications to support and help build credible, compelling campaigns that make a real difference.
You will also:
- Write clear and high quality submissions, reports, stakeholder correspondence, and supporter communications, to make our solutions appealing and credible to decision makers and consumers
- Provide consumer policy expertise for campaign strategies and content strategies across CHOICE
- Monitor media, legislative and regulatory developments affecting consumers to identify advocacy opportunities
- Conduct research and analysis on CHOICE priority campaign issues
- Co-ordinate meetings and events with policymakers, regulators, businesses, consumer sector allies and other stakeholders, and represent CHOICE at these meetings where appropriate.
