**About the role**
We are looking for a passionate and inspiring **Food & Beverage Manager** to join the team on a **Full-Time** basis
This key management role will see you lead the Food & Beverage department, with responsibility of the Restaurant, Café and Bar and In Room Dining outlets, as well as the events and functions taking place at the hotel, with the support of our amazing Food & Beverage team.
**What you will be responsible for**
- Manage all F&B day-to-day operations within budgeted guidelines and to the highest standards. Drives quality, and verifies standards are meeting the expectations of the customers on a daily basis
- Utilize interpersonal and communication skills to lead, influence, and encourage others; advocate sound financial/business decision making; demonstrates honesty/integrity; lead by example
- Create and nurture a property environment that emphasizes motivation, empowerment, teamwork, continuous improvement, and a passion for providing service
- Identify customers’ needs and respond proactively to all their concerns
- Drive alignment of all associates, team leaders and managers to the brand's service culture
- Set service expectations for all guests internally and externally
- Verify and execute all banquet functions, ensuring they are up to standard and exceeding guest's expectations
- Provide services that are above and beyond for customer satisfaction and retention
- Improve service by communicating and assisting individuals to understand guest needs, providing guidance, feedback, and individual coaching when needed
- Serve as a role model to demonstrate appropriate behaviors
- Respond quickly and proactively to both guest and associate concerns and requirements
- Encourage and build mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members and all hotel associates
- Develop specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish work and ensure team members are maintaining their productivity
- Provide the leadership, vision, and direction to bring together and prioritize the departmental goals in a way that will be efficient and effective
- Set clear expectations with the associates and team leaders and verifies that appropriate rewards are given if expectations are exceeded
- Lead the F&B team by attracting, recruiting, training, and appraising talented personnel
- Comply with all health and safety regulations
- Analyzes information and evaluates results to choose the best solution and solve problems, driving revenues and department profitability
- Conduct development and performance reviews, identifying key associates for further development and structured career pathing.
- Conduct regular departmental meetings to keep all associates informed and actively promote a work environment, which cares for guests and associates alike
- A minimum of 2-3 years of proven management experience in a 4- or 5-star hotel restaurant environment or highly regarded restaurant is essential
- Strong attention to detail and customer focus
- Must have the flexibility to work on a roster including public holidays and weekends
- Advanced food and beverage service and knowledge and up to date with food and beverage trends and best practices
- Valid Victorian RSA
- Proven ability to maximize revenue
- A hands-on approach to management
- Qualifications in hospitality management or related discipline is advantageous
- Working knowledge of various computer software programs (MS Office, restaurant management software, POS)
- Ability to spot and resolve problems efficiently
