Graduate Health Information Manager

Reporting to the Professional Lead - Health Information Management, Healthcare Purchasing and Funding Branch, you will provide comprehensive onsite support to the clinical coding function, coding audit, and coding education as needed. You will lead successful reviews and projects related to health information management, ensuring adherence to established standards and guidelines. Additionally, you will offer invaluable support to HIMs working within hospitals, specifically in the areas of activity-based funding education and reporting.
You will also be responsible for filling in for graduate and junior HIM positions within an HHS during periods of unplanned leave and workforce shortages, ensuring continuity of operations. Furthermore, you will collaborate with the Chief Health Information Manager to accomplish state-wide network activities, aligning with the defined work plan and objectives. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the smooth functioning of health information management processes, including clinical coding, coding education, and activity-based funding. You will have excellent project management skills, and the ability to provide guidance and support to junior staff members.

Moreover, you should demonstrate a track record of taking initiative to drive positive change within complex organizational settings, highlighting your proactive approach to problem-solving. Your commitment to lifelong learning and adherence to professional standards should be evident. Please note that meeting the requirement of obtaining a minimum score of 80% on a clinical coding exam is a prerequisite for this role.
