**Position Information**:
The Entrance Public School is located on the Central Coast of NSW about 1 and a half hours North of Sydney. The school has 430 students in mainstream, a support class of 9 students for children with moderate and severe intelletual disabilities (IO/IS) and a preschool consisting of up to 40 students who attend five days in a fortnight, in two groups of 20.

The school has initiated a new philosophy of high aspirations and expectations for its students, staff and community.

Our school is supported by a proud and vibrant community with a strong emphasis and focus on Aboriginal Education, Sport and Technology. Our school strives for strong community connections with over 63% in the lowest income quartile and more than 20% of our students with an Aboriginal background. The school has seen a recent increase in its EALD (English as an Additional Language) population with 13% of families identifying as such. Over 60% of our students come from a single parent home.

The school offers a number of whole school opportunities across Sport, Technology, Dance, Environment and Cultural arenas which enable our students to thrive with a range of different experiences.

We utilise strong data driven practices and combine this with an explicit instruction model of teaching so all students are able to access stage appropriate learning.

A continued focus on strong intervention strategies from P-6 with a coordinated and closely monitored response through Learning Support for individual students will continue to be a priority within the school.

The school targets classroom and playground behaviour through its PBL (Positive Behaviour for Learning) approach. High Expectations around being a Safe, Respectful and Engaged Community is strongly promoted throughout the whole school community. Consolidating strong welfare programs is a priority within the school as is building and maintaining strong connections with its community.

**Selection Criteria**:
Approval to teach infants and primary with demonstrated ability to implement research based, differentiated literacy and numeracy programs using data to inform practice.

Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal Education Policy with demonstrated capacity to support Aboriginal students and embed Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives across the curriculum for all students.

Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills with the capacity to work collaboratively and build positive relationships with students, staff, parents and the wider community.

Demonstrated ability to create a positive learning environment through the implementation of effective classroom management strategies and student well-being programs that support whole school systems.

Demonstrated ability and commitment to authentically integrate technology across the curriculum and implement innovative practices that empower students and inspire learners.
