**The role**:
The company is seeking experienced Underground Heavy Diesel (HD) Fitters to join their current and future operations.

Working within their relevant operations, their Underground Heavy Diesel Fitters are responsible for carrying out quality preventative and breakdown maintenance services to our heavy mobile fleet - including CAT, Komatsu, Sandvik and Atlas equipment.

- **Location**:_the company’s gold mines in the Murchinson region of regional Western Australia, with fly-in-fly-out to site from Perth, except for occasional attendance in the Perth corporate office during the rostered time on.

**Duties and Responsibilities include**:

- Equipment Maintenance: Conducting routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on heavy diesel-powered underground mining equipment, such as haul trucks, loaders, drills, and utility vehicles.
- Mechanical Troubleshooting: Diagnosing and resolving mechanical issues and breakdowns in underground mining machinery to minimize downtime and ensure safe and reliable operation.
- Diesel Engine Maintenance: Performing maintenance tasks on diesel engines, including servicing, oil changes, filter replacements, and component overhauls.
- Hydraulic and Pneumatic Systems: Maintaining and repairing hydraulic and pneumatic systems integrated into mining equipment to ensure proper functionality.
- Welding and Fabrication: Performing welding and fabrication tasks to repair and modify mining equipment components.
- Electrical Systems: Assisting with electrical maintenance tasks on mining equipment, such as troubleshooting electrical faults and replacing electrical components.
- Safety Compliance: Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and guidelines while working on heavy equipment in underground mining environments.
- Preventive Maintenance: Implementing preventive maintenance programs to identify potential issues and prevent unexpected breakdowns of mining equipment.
- Parts Inventory and Ordering: Managing spare parts inventory and ordering replacements as needed to maintain an adequate supply for equipment maintenance.
- Emergency Response: Being available for emergency repair callouts to quickly respond to equipment breakdowns and minimize production disruptions.
- Documentation: Maintaining detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment history for proper documentation and tracking.
- Collaboration: Collaborating with other maintenance teams, engineers, and supervisors to coordinate maintenance activities and ensure efficient underground mining operations.
- Continuous Improvement: Identifying opportunities for process improvements and suggesting innovative solutions to enhance equipment performance and reliability.
- Underground Environment Awareness: Being knowledgeable about the unique challenges and safety considerations of working in an underground mining environment.

**What do I need?**
- Nationally recognised Heavy Diesel Trade Certificate
- Extensive experience in a similar role
- Quality workmanship with excellent trouble shooting and diagnostic skills
- Strong commitment to safety
- Highly motivated, positive individual who is able to work in a team environment and autonomously
- Valid WA Manual C Class Drivers Licence
- National Police Certificate valid within 12 months; and
- Ability to pass a pre-employment medical, drug and alcohol screen.
