Key responsibilities

**As a Procurement Officer, you will**:

- Uphold the values of the Queensland Public Sector to ensure exceptional outcomes for both the organisation and its clients. Lead the Stores team to ensure an efficient and cost-effective warehousing and delivery service is provided to WMYDC & BYDC. Coordinate tasks involved in low-risk, low-value procurement activity, for regular and ad hoc requests ensuring effective purchasing and compliance with procurement policies, standards, processes, and procedures. Identify potential risks with purchases and seek advice from the Intelligence team to determine practical solutions and to ensure such purchases meet the requirements of a secure environment with at-risk young people. Undertake complex procurement tasks and prepare contract documentation for complex procurement as directed and under the guidance of the Manager, Finance and Administration and/or Procurement Corporate services. Assist with complex procurement by attending procurement and tender evaluation stakeholders meetings and preparing documentation including minutes. Review procurement activities, processes and procedures to achieve consistency and economies of scale for Cleveland, West Moreton, and Brisbane Youth Detention Centres. Organise, retain, and report on procurement activity to assist with the management of the Centre. This includes compiling statistics and reports asrequested by managers. Build, manage, and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders through effective communication skills, collaboration, and negotiation abilities.
