This is a great opportunity for a university graduate or 3rd/4th year law student to contribute to the BaptistCare Governance & Legal team while learning and growing. You will assist in the delivery of governance and legal support to the business providing assistance to more senior lawyers within team.

**Legal support**

Under the guidance and supervision of senior lawyers some of your responsibilities will include:

- drafting straight forward documentation
- proof-reading complex documentation
- reviewing and summarising contractual and other legal documents
- undertaking legal research
- summarising facts/legal issues and relevant legislation/case law
- reviewing and collating documents
- assisting with appointment of external lawyers/experts for major projects
- assisting with preparation of legal documentation/correspondence
- Preparing files for court and meetings

**Governance support**

You will also have the opportunity to have invaluable exposure to the workings of a large governance function by supporting the Company Secretary in preparing draft agendas for the Board, Subsidiary Boards and Board Committee meetings, assisting with compilation of Board papers and on occasion taking minutes at those meetings.

**About you**
- previous paralegal experience
- good interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- competency to performing legal research
- base level understanding of legal terminology and principles
- enthusiasm for law and a keenness to learn and growth within a team
