We’re looking for a confident and agile journalist who can cover Brisbane courts to provide relevant state-wide content and give readers insight into the crimes that unfold in the community and how they’re dealt with.
The role requires an enthusiastic and resilient writer with demonstrated ability who can bounce between long-form feature pieces and breaking news. Court experience would be highly regarded but not essential.
This is a prime opportunity for a motivated reporter to take their career to the next level at a company that can provide an exciting career path and values people willing to move so they can grow professionally.
**What’s the role?**
- Part-time position to work 2 days per week in the office.
- Source and produce compelling stories that resonate with an audience
- Deliver relevant content that both engages our existing subscribers and attracts new readers
- Work under deadline pressure in a fast-paced environment without compromising on quality or accuracy
- Focus on online engagement and drive subscription growth
- Understand digital data and use it in planning content

- Strong news judgment and high level of accuracy
- Understands and has experience in digital storytelling
- Willing to embrace change and demonstrate agility in a fast-paced sector
- Self-starter who can maintain high levels of personal organisation and time management
- Understands social media, SEO, digital data
- Harding working, detail-oriented and able to stay calm under pressure
