**Position Information**:
Blaxcell Street Public School is situated in the Western Sydney suburb of Granville and offers a rich and robust curriculum within a supportive and caring environment. With an enrolment nearing 950 students, 95% of students come from language backgrounds other than English. The most prevalent language group is Arabic, with Chinese being the next significant group.

**Selection Criteria**:
In addition to the general selection criteria, approval to teach infants and/or primary with demonstrated experience in leading whole school improvement using evidence informed practices, showing deep understanding of the strategic improvement process and expert knowledge of curriculum.
Evidence of emotionally intelligent, visible leadership with a demonstrated ability to manage the complexities of a senior executive role including building the capacity of executive and teaching staff.
Proven ability to collaborate with the whole school community and external agencies to form positive, productive relationships and implement strategies that support the educational and wellbeing outcomes of students and their families in a complex school setting.
**General Selection Criteria**:
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy
